Characteristics of Determiners:
Definition: Determiners are words that come before nouns to provide more information about them. They help specify or determine which particular noun is being referred to.
Function: Determiners can indicate definiteness (whether the noun is specific or general), quantity (how many or how much), possession (who owns something), or demonstrate (which one).
Placement: Determiners typically come before the noun they modify. However, certain determiners can also come after adjectives or adverbs to emphasize their role.
Types of Determiners: Determiners include articles (definite and indefinite), demonstratives, quantifiers, possessives, and numbers.

Articles:
Definite Article: “The” is used before singular or plural nouns when the noun is specific or known to the reader.
Example: “The cat is on the mat.”
Indefinite Articles: “A” is used before words that begin with consonants, while “an” is used before words that begin with vowels.
Example: “A dog is a loyal animal.”
Demonstratives: These determine the proximity of a noun in space or time.
Examples: “This,” “that,” “these,” “those”
Example: “This book is interesting.”
Quantifiers: These determine the quantity or extent of a noun.
Examples: “Some,” “any,” “many,” “much,” “few,” “several,” “all,” “both,” “neither,” “each,” “every,” etc.
Example: “There are many books on the shelf.”
Possessives: These show ownership or possession.
Examples: “My,” “your,” “his,” “her,” “its,” “our,” “their”
Example: “This is my house.”
Numbers: These indicate the quantity or order of a noun.
Examples: “One,” “two,” “three,” “first,” “second,” “third,” etc.
Example: “There are three pens on the desk.”
