The invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg in the 15th century drastically changed the way books were produced. Before this invention, books were Q8  by hand, which was a slow and expensive process. Gutenberg's use of Q9  type allowed for quicker and cheaper book production. This innovation not only increased the availability of books but also played a crucial role in spreading the Q10  and the Scientific Revolution. Although some authorities resisted this new technology, the printing press ultimately led to higher Q11  rates and a more informed public.
